In this 4 hour class, students learn math, economics, civics, geometry and technology as they work together to create a city within the virtual world of Minecraft Education. While certainly a fun game, Minecraft is also a limitless platform for students to learn academic skills in a highly engaging virtual environment.

In this problem-solving class, students design their own house and business within a virtual city as they learn about budgeting, profit and loss, supply and demand and consumer markets. As they serve on a city council, they study how laws are made and work together to create their own constitution of laws. Students use mathematics and geometry to construct a working urban environment. They must problem-solve as they serve on a city council that responding to natural disasters and challenging city issues. STEM learning has never been so fun!

This class meets once for 4 hours on December 6th which is an early release day. Students are welcome to bring a nut free snack and a drink. Laptops will be provided for the students to use.

Refund Policy
If you withdraw from a program at anytime prior to two weeks before the program start date, you will receive an account credit good towards other Parks and Recreation programs. Account credits do not expire. Account credit will not be issued if the cancellation takes places within two weeks of the program start date. Cancellations due to a medical emergency will have the option to receive an account credit or a refund at anytime with proper medical documentation. If a program is cancelled by Parks and Recreation, you will have the option to receive an account credit or a refund for that program.
