Children's Dining Etiquette Workshop

Present your child with the opportunity to feel self-reliant and confident in any social or dining situation by taking interactive lessons taught by a certified etiquette consultant. Our workshop is designed to teach them how to conduct themselves on the dining table at home, in a restaurant or when meeting new people. Teaching children proper dining skills and table manners helps them to succeed at school, socially, and later, professionally. 

Topics Include:
Approaching and seating at the table
The napkin and its uses
Understanding place setting
How to correctly hold silverware
The bread & butter plate
The soup course
Proper use of silverware American
Continental styles of dining Passing food at the table
What to do with unwanted food
Appropriate table conversation
Excusing yourself from the table
Other table manners & much more

Some food samples will be served during class so that the children can practice what they learn. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Please inform us of any food allergies when signing up.

A little bit about the instructor, Nikki Sawhney
Nikki Sawhney is the Director and Founder of the New England School of Protocol and provides workshops & classes in social skills, dining etiquette & modern manners to children, teenagers and adults. Nikki is a graduate of the prestigious American School of Protocol in Atlanta, Georgia where she received professional training earning Certification in Corporate, Business and Children's Etiquette. She has also trained under William Hanson, a British etiquette expert and a tutor for the international protocol and hospitality consultancy firm The English Manner. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and has worked in finance on Wall Street and in the retail industry. Through the New England School of Protocol, Nikki teaches her students how to convey confidence, courtesy, and be self- reliant in any social and dining situation. Refund Policy
If you withdraw from a program at anytime prior to two weeks before the program start date, you will receive an account credit good towards other Parks and Recreation programs. Account credits do not expire. Account credit will not be issued if the cancellation takes places within two weeks of the program start date. Cancellations due to a medical emergency will have the option to receive an account credit or a refund at anytime with proper medical documentation. If a program is cancelled by Parks and Recreation, you will have the option to receive an account credit or a refund for that program.
